The top three finishers in each age group at this year’s Madison Mad Dash will receive an
incredible one of a kind ceramic art-piece. This work is a collaboration between Avanti High
School junior Kya Jackson, local Architect Trent Hart and Madison parent Jane Locke. With the
support of Avanti art teacher and Madison parent Cecily Schmidt, Kya was able to create the
perfect design for this year’s prizes.

Kya is a runner and budding artist. Over the past five years, she has participated in a series of
charity and fundraiser races. Her art is simple yet powerful and reflects the kind, sympathetic,
and hardworking person that she is. She has combined her passions for art and running to
create a beautiful and meaningful image for our awards. Once raku fired, each piece will be a
unique work of art.
